Who

Having had a year to reflect on life post-grad, I can confidently say that I’ve been chasing paths without a clear direction. Being led by curiosity, fear, or a mysterious third option, I’ve tried a lot of different things: majors, internships, hobbies, cities, etc. etc. etc.

Speaking of cities, I moved to Seattle a year ago after living in Texas for like 10 years and currently work as a Product Manager at Microsoft. As I’m finally feeling a certain groove and rhythm in life, I’m becoming somewhat interested in writing. I want to write specifically about about what it’s like to grow up in the blur of my (right now, early) 20s. Being career-focused but also lost. Ambitious but unsure. Surrounded by options but still figuring out what I actually want.

I’ve always been someone who journals, voice-memos, films, or rewrites texts 3 times before sending. I hope that this blog is just the next version of that. It’s a slower, deeper space for thoughts that don’t quite fit on social media.

What

This isn’t a niche blog. It’s a life-in-progress blog.

Some days, I could write about relationships and navigating friendships. Other days, I could write about working in tech or lessons from my internships. Either way, I hope to document life as I’m figuring it out in real time.

When

God, I wish I could set a cadence for this. I’ve actually been meaning to write for a while, so I hope that this is the start of a regular posting schedule. Let’s start with 2-3 times a month? Or when there’s something to talk about? Ummm … anyways

Where

Here in Substack for now. But if you ever want to chat, write about something, or just want to chat, let me know!

Why

Recently, I’ve felt like I’m living life on autopilot and taking experiences and events in my life as they come before leaving them behind. However, I want to log and remember what it’s like to be here and now. Everything in life feels like a big decision right now, but I hope writing helps me slow down, make sense of my thoughts, and , in the future, remember what I’ve done.

If you got to this part, not only do I congratulate your attention span, but I am assuming we might be in the same boat and navigating similar issues and feelings. If I write honestly enough, I hope someone else feels a little more seen.

This blog is how I document what I’m learning, but also a way to connect with you. The you who’s trying their best, asking big questions, or just looking for someone who gets it.

So let’s do this together ♡

A disclaimer

Everything I share here is my own opinion and perspective. It doesn’t represent any company, past or present. If something I say resonates, I hope it stays with you. If it doesn’t, reach out! Maybe there’s something that I can learn. I welcome all discussions, comments, concerns, thoughts, prayers, tips, limericks, etc. etc. etc.

A big thank you to Charles Li for the inspiration. Check out his Substack here.
